FLL

First Lego League, also known as FLL is a robotics program created and run by FIRST which hopes to promote STEM to children ages 4 – 16. This program helps participants gain real-world applicable skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving through encouraging them to participate in a competition based around STEM. This program has 3 main divisions: FLL Discover, FLL Explore, and FLL Challenge. More information about these programs can be found below.

FLL Discover (Ages 4-6):

This introductory STEM program gently encourages children to follow their natural curiosity and builds learning habits through the use of hands on activities in the classroom and or at home using Lego DUPLO.

FLL Explore (Ages 6-10):

FLL Explore teaches children to work in teams in order to solve real-world problems focused on engineering and STEM with unique solutions while also teaching them skills that benefit them later in life (designing, coding etc).

FLL Challenge (Ages: 9-16):

FLL Challenge builds on the skills learned in previous FIRST programs while also adding an element of friendly competition which has teams build a unique robot using skills learned previously to participate in a robot game. Saber Robotics hosts one of the competitions at Franklin highs school each year while running it efficiently and successfully.
