This year, the Franklin High School robotics team, Team 2506, is hoping to have our best year yet. If you have never heard of Team 2506, we work with high school students in order to improve life and engineering skills that will carry over into future careers. We are comprised of five subteams: design, mechanical, electrical, programming, and business. We all work together to fulfill the FIRST competition challenge each year. FIRST, or For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, crafts a new task that all of the schools’ robots must complete. This competition works with kids of all ages to inspire students to want to pursue their interests in STEM.
Looking back to last season, we are continuing to adjust to the toll of the worldwide pandemic by following mandated protocols set by the FPS school district, such as wearing masks.
This year, we are excited for the opportunity to compete at in-person competitions, and showcase our talents at the regional level. By demonstrating Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition, we strive to keep our program. Make sure to look out for us this season and keep checking in on our website as we will be posting more updates as the season progresses!
