In a majority male S.T.E.M industry, the Saber Robotics Women In S.T.E.M Program aims to create a means of women empowerment in robotics. We have supported this program because we want women to have a voice in the S.T.E.M field and create gender diversity in the field. Especially in FIRST Robotics, most of the members are male. By encouraging woman empowerment in S.T.E.M, like Saber Robotics is right now through the “Women In Stem” program, we are encouraging females to explore the many opportunities that are available to them through the career path of S.T.E.M. Encouraging more women to partake in Robotics and S.T.E.M as a whole is beneficial as it brings more perspectives of the same idea which helps cause more innovation.
“Encouraging Women in Stem in Robotics is important because it encourages young women to pursue careers in S.T.E.M, which is often a male dominated field. Starting at this age empowers them to continue in fields of science.”
